It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

I was inspired by a musician I follow on Twitter (yep, I am going there with this) to think of what I define Christmas as. Now while I think everyone will agree Christmas is easily defined by usual trappings of the holiday by most people, usually stress gets thrown in there like a cherry. This is purely my opinion of what Christmas is to me.

Christmas is…
Luke 2:1-7.
God’s gift to every sinner.
love and sacrifice.
giving, not of monetary value but of love value.
believing.
chucking seeds. (Jose Zayas)
celebrating the birth of a risen Saviour.
joy in a new believer’s eyes.
the moving of God’s hands on people’s lives.
thanking God for all He’s done.
Jesus’ birthday, not who can give the biggest gift, because God already took care of that one.
not a “to-do” list, but an “I AM” list.
remembering and hoping.

This year my Christmas has been more God-centered rather than world-centered. I get caught up in gift-giving too, and I catch myself thinking “well I don’t have alot of money and my gifts aren’t as good as my sister’s.” That’s when I stop, and praise God for what He’s given me, how He’s blessed me what with I do have, and thank Him for the greatest gift I could ever receive and in turn give. God’s amazing that way, when we’re open to Him and our will’s are His. He moves our minds back to where it should be, and focused in on Him.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas with your families and friends.
